General Anaesthesia & Deep Sedation
Whether the clinic documents treatment under general anaesthesia or deep / twilight sedation — "sleep dentistry", where the patient is asleep and unaware (does not feel, see, or hear the procedure). Ordinary conscious sedation, where the patient stays awake and responsive, does not count here. This is informational and does not affect the transparency score.

Score Breakdown
Every criterion below is scored from public sources. ✓ verified yes · ✗ verified no / not found · ◐ partial · ? unverified (scores 0, not a negative finding).
Information Transparency
18 / 20
Whether basic facts about the clinic - its team, premises, services, and location - are publicly verifiable.
| ✓ | Has a working website [s1] | 4/4 |
| ✓ | Dentist names listed Named on-site: Dr. Sahba Rohani (BDS, Otago), with a dedicated bio page. [s1] | 3/3 |
| ✓ | Dentist specializations listed The site names Dr. Sahba Rohani with his qualification (BDS, Otago) on a dedicated bio page. [s1] | 2/2 |
| ✗ | Real clinic photos The website illustrates itself with stock photography — a studio smile hero, drawn service icons and stock testimonial avatars — and publishes no photograph of the Te Aroha Street premises or of a named team member. [s1] | 0/2 |
| ✓ | Service list published Dedicated Gum Disease Treatment service page found; “Family & Emergency Care” tagline. [s1] | 3/3 |
| ✓ | Clear contact details [s1] [gmp1] | 2/2 |
| ✓ | English website version [s1] | 2/2 |
| ✓ | Address and map published [s1] [gmp1] | 2/2 |
Price Transparency
13 / 15
Whether patients can estimate costs before visiting. Published price ranges count; exact prices are not required.
| ✓ | Prices or price ranges published Permanent “Dental Fees” table on the clinic’s own pricing page: combined exam/x-rays/full-mouth scale & polish $220; extractions $150–$250; fillings $110–$300; root canals from $700 — four services, not a time-limited promotion. [s2] | 3/3 |
| ✓ | Cleaning price listed Published only inside the combined special: “Exam/x-rays/full mouth scale & polish $220”; no standalone hygiene price. [s2] | 2/2 |
| ✓ | Filling price listed Fillings “Depending on the location, size and surfaces involved $110-$300”. [s2] | 2/2 |
| ✓ | Crown price listed The clinic's FAQ gives its crown price range ($1400-$1500) [relax-dental-hamilton-east-deepen-5] | 2/2 |

Reputation & Reviews
13.5 / 20
Public review signals. The Google rating is adjusted with a Bayesian prior (rating 4.0, weight 25) so a 5.0 from a handful of reviews does not outrank a 4.8 from hundreds.
| ◐ | Google rating (Bayesian-adjusted) Google place page read in a browser on 2026-09-10: 4.6 across 60 reviews; star histogram 1★ 5 / 2★ 1 / 3★ 0 / 4★ 2 / 5★ 52 = 60, whose weighted mean is 4.58. [gmp1] | 4/6 |
| ◐ | Google review volume [gmp1] [gmp2] | 1.5/3 |
| ✓ | Review recency The newest star-rated review rendered on the clinic’s Google place page on 2026-09-10 is three months old; the eight reviews shown span three months to a year. (The verification pass had cleared this value because the only dated entry its record returned was a Google Business Post by the clinic, not a review; the reviews themselves render in the browser.) [gmp2] | 3/3 |
| ✓ | Clinic responds to reviews Read on the clinic's own Google listing on 2026-09-11: the practice has answered 5 of the 5 reviews shown there (60 published in total), most recently on 2026-05-20. One reply reads: "Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re truly delighted to hear that you had such a comfortable and stress-free experience with our te...". [gmp2] [gm-replies] | 2/2 |
| ✗ | No recurring complaints Readable low reviews repeatedly describe problems after treatment (ongoing issues with crown work, damaged teeth, a filling that fell out) [gm-replies] | 0/2 |
| ✓ | No suspicious review patterns No manipulation signals found [relax-dental-hamilton-east-deepen-2] | 2/2 |
| ✓ | Active Facebook presence facebook.com/RelaxDentalHamilton found linked from search results. [s1] | 1/1 |
| ✗ | TripAdvisor presence No TripAdvisor listing found; site and GBP do not link one [relax-dental-hamilton-east-deepen] [relax-dental-hamilton-east-deepen-10] | 0/0.5 |

Medical Infrastructure
11 / 15
The range of publicly documented equipment and services. This measures documented availability, not clinical quality.

Change History
| Date | Change |
|---|---|
| 2026-09-29 | Confirmed that WhatClinic's Hamilton dentist catalogue (3 practices, read in full) does not list the clinic, and that TripAdvisor's own search has no profile for it. |
| 2026-09-24 | Corrected: other review-platform presence re-assessed on 2026-09-24 -- a Healthpoint directory entry is not a review platform, and no WhatClinic profile was found in the city catalogue, so presence is left unverified. |
| 2026-09-24 | Search visibility checked on 2026-09-24 for the four pending Hamilton, New Zealand queries — "English speaking dentist Hamilton, New Zealand", "dental implants Hamilton, New Zealand", "emergency dentist Hamilton, New Zealand" and "Hamilton, New Zealand dental clinic for expats": present for "dental implants Hamilton, New Zealand"; not present for "English speaking dentist Hamilton, New Zealand", "emergency dentist Hamilton, New Zealand" and "Hamilton, New Zealand dental clinic for expats". |
| 2026-09-24 | Re-read on 2026-09-24: the clinic's website (pricing, FAQ, root canal, contact and homepage/blog content) and its Google listing (newest, lowest and default review views), plus Healthpoint and TripAdvisor. Recorded: X-rays documented as part of the standard exam; dental care for adults and children; an online enquiry option; procedures explained with their reasons, not just named; no WhatsApp/LINE; structured business data on the site; a Healthpoint directory listing; no TripAdvisor listing. Several low reviews describe problems after treatment; otherwise no signs of manipulated reviews. Corrected: the FAQ page publishes a crown price range ($1400-$1500), previously recorded as not published. |
| 2026-09-11 | Rechecked whether this practice answers its Google reviews by reading the reviews on its own Google listing on 2026-09-11: confirmed, 5 of the 5 reviews read carry a dated reply from the practice, the newest dated 2026-05-20. |
| 2026-09-10 | Checked by hand in a browser: the Google place record opened in a browser — the 60-review count and full histogram confirmed, and the review recency that the verification pass had to clear (Business-Post trap) re-established from the star-rated reviews themselves; website imagery judged stock. |
| 2026-09-10 | The verification pass adversarial verification: every cited URL re-opened, clinic /about, /team, /fees, /services and /contact pages read, Google place record read again automatically (rating, review count, star histogram, review dates, owner responses), AI-visibility citations re-checked against the AI-visibility record and the listicles it ranks. |
| 2026-09-10 | Initial data collection: clinic website (home), automated Google Maps lookup, DCNZ/HealthCERT registry conclusion applied, AI-visibility record canonical queries (four of five queries off-target due to Hamilton, ON/OH/Bermuda namesakes). Selected as a directly reachable replacement after Victoria Dentists and Tulip Dental returned managed-challenge pages to automated requests. |
